Escorted Switzerland Tours 2025/26

Explore

A tour of Switzerland will take you to a fascinating country that’s as world-famous for its independence as it is for its chocolate, cheese and astonishingly beautiful scenery. With four official languages, some of Switzerland’s cities are ranked among the very highest in the world for their quality of life. The country is also the home of many international and highly respected institutions, including the Red Cross, the United Nations and the World Trade Organization. But Switzerland is, of course, synonymous too with its towering Alps and mighty glaciers – from which major Swiss rivers, including the Rhine and Rhône, flow through deep valleys and lush meadows into more than 1500 lakes that contain 6% of Europe’s fresh water.

We offer a variety of escorted Switzerland tours that will take you to unforgettable places – from the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks to the calm waterfronts of Lake Lucerne and Lake Oeschinen, and from Zurich, Grindelwald and Brienz to the Reichenbach Falls where Sherlock Holmes met his sad demise. If you are interested in iconic railway journeys, the Glacier Express is also a must. Cutting through beautiful scenery and passing mountain ranges is a breathtaking experience, and the panoramic windows give great views to every carriage seat.

These escorted tours to Switzerland have been tailor-made by our travel experts to ensure you discover this beautiful country in a way that suits you. Popular FAQs About Switzerland Tours

Yes, Switzerland is a very tourist-friendly destination. On our tours to Switzerland, you'll find the country filled with warm, welcoming people. Communication is easy; many locals also speak excellent English as well as German, French, Italian and Romansh. This makes travelling stress-free and enjoyable, whether you're navigating a bustling city or a quiet mountain village.

Our tours of Switzerland offer something for every traveller. You can enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the Swiss Alps and explore the historic charm of cities like Zurich, Lucerne, and Geneva - they're overflowing with Swiss culture.

The country is also celebrated for its exceptional safety, cleanliness, and efficient public transportation — all of which contribute to a pleasant and secure environment for exploring.

When preparing for your Switzerland tour, what you pack will depend largely on the time of year you plan to visit and where you intend to go. Switzerland’s weather can vary greatly between seasons - and even throughout the day - so packing smart is key to enjoying your trip.

During the colder months, or if your tours in Switzerland take you into the Alps or other high-altitude areas (which many of our Switzerland tours do), be sure to bring warm clothing. A quality winter jacket, thermal layers, hats, gloves, and sturdy footwear are essential for keeping cosy and dry. Snowfall can occur as early as October and as late as April, so it’s better to be well-prepared if you're visiting during these times.

If your Switzerland tour falls in the summer months, you’ll enjoy milder weather, but it’s wise not to leave warm clothing behind. A light jacket or a few jumpers are recommended, as evenings can be cool, especially in mountainous areas or by the lakes. Layering your outfits is a good strategy to stay comfortable as temperatures shift throughout the day.

In addition to weather-appropriate clothing, don't forget your travel essentials. You’ll need your passport, itinerary details, and proof of travel insurance. It's also important to pack a travel adapter, especially if you are travelling on one of our tours in Switzerland — you'll find a mix of Type C (2-pin) and Type J (3-pin) plugs in your hotels. Having the right adapter ensures you can keep your devices charged throughout your Switzerland tours.

Packing thoughtfully will ensure you’re ready to fully enjoy everything this beautiful country has to offer, no matter the season.

Yes, you can drink the tap waters in Switzerland! Tap water in Switzerland is not only safe to drink but is also known for its exceptional quality. Throughout your Switzerland guided tours, you’ll find that the water comes from pristine natural sources like groundwater and alpine springs, ensuring a fresh and pure taste. We recommend you bring a refillable water bottle with you - Switzerland’s strict water quality standards mean you can confidently refill your bottle at public fountains, restaurants, or your hotel. Staying hydrated while enjoying tours to Switzerland has never been easier - or more refreshing!

UK Citizens do not require a visa to travel on Switzerland tours, however must have a valid passport. Switzerland follows Schengen area rules so to embark on your journey, ensure your passport:
bear a ‘date of issue’ that’s less than 10 years old at the time of your arrival – if your passport was renewed before 1 October 2018, check the issue date, as it may exceed this timeframe.
hold an ‘expiry date’ that extends at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen area (the expiry date need not fall within 10 years of the issue).

If necessary, take the step to renew your passport. You will be denied entry if you do not have a valid travel document or try to use a passport that has been reported lost or stolen.
